Info Post
Name: Russel Goldman : Raiel
Age: 17 [11/24/1996]
Appearance: The dude on the far right. Blond hair, brown eyes, 5'9" tall. He's muscular but it's not immediately obvious through his clothes.
Unlike Raiel, Russel dresses like a normal human being in modern-day America, but his fashion sense when it comes anything fancier than "casual-everyday wear" might be...slightly outdated.
He also has a costume he put together for
sun_sun's superhero/magical girl squad: [Link]
Occupation: High school student, junior year. He's on the football team (he plays wide receiver and cornerback, jersey #34), and a member of the drama club (typecast into villain roles because his acting is hammy as fuck).
Full Application: Linked here.
Echoes Received:
See here.
Notes:
Russel is friends with basically everyone! He's just so gosh-darned nice and practically has a radar for lonely kids who need befriending. He is even friends with people who can't stand him. They'll come around eventually!!
He's gotten in fights before due to confronting bullies and defending people who were getting picked on. He's sort of got a 'champion of the weak' thing going on.
Outside of school he is a massive fucking dork who loves animanga and jRPGs, and he roleplays on the internet and has at least one MMO that he is really intense about. He can also talk your ear off about music, any decade, any genre, so you might not want to get him started.
He has a 4-year-old Australian shepherd named Tchaikovsky who is just the cutest dog ever yes she is.
His mother, Patricia Goldman, is the State Comptroller--which means that even though she is popularly elected and has been in that position for five years, you've probably never heard of her. His father, Samuel Goldman, writes very unpopular children's books like Santa's in Your House and Why Doesn't Grandma Remember My Name?.

Ability Echoes
December 11th
He bruises where others break, recovers more quickly from blunt force trauma, and has a surprising amount of resilience. Basically, it is the uncanny ability to only be seriously injured when it is suitably dramatic or the plot requires it.
December 11th
He regained his magic music! Albeit in a very limited form, emotional resonance/bard skills only for the moment.
January 25th
How to play Stravinsky's Appearance of the Firebird on piano. HIS ONE SONG.
February 25th
Firebird! A minivan-sized bird of living flame. Visual reference.
It's really more like an animal companion than a summon. Firebird was Raiel's BFF and the only company he had for much of his childhood. He can communicate with it and seems completely unaware that nobody else can hear what it's saying.
Russel cannot communicate with it yet, and for now it will immediately un-summon as soon as he stops playing the Firebird Suite.
?? [tier 2]
Technical piano skills! He can now play and learn songs from sheet music. This allows him to use his bard skills. He is good, but he still lacks Raiel's instinctive mastery. (ie all the really complex shit like playing 4-hand songs solo is still way out of his league.)
?? [tier 2]
Superstrength! (But not super endurance. Yet.)
This is a Charles Atlas Superpower that he trained up for the express purpose of being able to carry around his piano, because what good is a magic musician without his weapon?
His upper bound is actually quite high. He is strong enough to pick up and throw a car if he really puts a lot of effort into it, but not much stronger than that.
Since this is (supposedly) a perfectly mundane strength, instead of rebalancing his strength curve, it just shifted the upper bound by a huge margin.
March 23rd [TIER 2]
Part of Gluck's opera, Orfeo ed Euridice, about Orpheus's descent into the Underworld to rescue the soul of his beloved Eurydice, Dance of the Blessed Spirits is the hauntingly melancholy tune of Orpheus's travels through the heavenly Elysian Fields. Surrounded by unimaginable beauty and wonder, Orpheus can only find tragedy in the fact that Eurydice is not there to share in the experience with him. It is a song filled with loss and longing, a song that will resonate with anyone who has ever felt as though there was a hole in their life that kept them from enjoying the goodness in it.
Pt 2: Snow spirits. They don't have bodies, they're just a long serpentine neck ending in a draconic head, and they always appear as a unit of 3-5 heads. They're made of crystallized snow, and they can either brute force attack or sharpen their edges to be used as blades.
They can only be summoned if there's snow around for them to appear out of, and their size and strength depends on the amount of snow available.
